The Grand Bohemian Mountain Brook is not your average hotel. Built in 2015, its vibrant, artistic touches make it feel like you’re staying in an art gallery in Birmingham. This quirky hotel in Mountain Brook seems out of place in a city known for its southern charm, but it adds a unique flair.

Aromas and Artistic Elegance

The moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by an almost edible scent, a delightful blend that set the tone for our stay. The lobby alone is a visual feast, with eclectic furniture and bold colors that capture the artistic ambiance in this Birmingham hotel. Every corner of this quirky hotel room is designed to inspire and delight.

Room Features and Comfort

Our room, 330, was a spacious corner suite featuring a comfortable king-sized bed and a desk with luggage-inspired drawers that added a vintage charm. The luxurious bathroom, complete with a deep soaking tub and a generous supply of bath salts, became our sanctuary. The housekeeping manager, Eddie, even provided extra bath salts, adding a thoughtful touch to our stay. stay.

We indulged in many amenities offered at this luxury hotel in Birmingham, but we found the Poseidon Spa a bit too expensive for our taste. After living in Asia, I can’t justify spending $100 on a massage. However, if expensive massages are your thing, the experience here would likely be worth it. Alexis from the spa introduced us to the hotel’s signature candle, a fragrance that made us wish our home could smell like the Grand Bohemian Mountain Brook.

The art gallery was closed on Monday, but we still enjoyed the colorful bohemian and Picasso-inspired art displayed throughout the hotel. We also took advantage of the fully equipped gym, outdoor pool, and rooftop terrace. The stylish purple furniture and beautiful views of Mountain Brook made for a perfect relaxing evening. Plus, the hotel features a 24-hour staffed front desk, ensuring guests can access assistance at any time.

Mountain Brook Hotel: Perfectly Located

The hotel sits perfectly situated in the heart of Mountain Brook. Just across the street from the Birmingham Zoo and the Botanical Garden, it’s a great spot for exploring the area. Charming shops, restaurants, and massage studios fill the surrounding neighborhood, making it clear why this area hosts one of Birmingham’s top hotels.

Valet parking was smooth and efficient, thanks to James, who was incredibly helpful in explaining the hotel’s services. Although we noticed the night valet seemed more interested in his phone, the overall experience was top-notch. I found out later that the hotel is using a cell phone based app, so the night valet may have been preoccupied with a request from another guest or updating parking details in the system. Despite this, the overall experience remained top-notch, with attentive service and seamless parking logistics throughout our stay.

Stay at: A Memorable Escape

Staying at this quirky hotel room has a higher price tag, with standard rooms typically costing $360 per night. However, we managed to secure a room for $120, and the reception staff graciously upgraded us to a larger corner room that included breakfast, adding even more value to our stay.
