The Journey from Nimman to Mae Rim

During our stay at The Empire Nimman Chiang Mai, we decided to venture out and visit Fleur Cafe & Eatery. If you’re staying in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai, Fleur Cafe is only 20-25 kilometers away, nestled in the beautiful Mae Rim District. The drive takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic, and offers scenic views as you head into the more rural and mountainous areas. Whether you’re hiring a taxi or opting for a Grab rideshare, the cost is quite reasonable. Expect to pay between 250 to 400 Thai Baht (around $7 to $12 USD) for the trip. Trust me, it’s worth every penny.

If you’re curious about where to stay in Chiang Mai, I’ve written a detailed review of The Empire Nimman Residence Hotel, which was our home base during this trip. It’s a great choice for those looking to explore both the city and the surrounding areas.

Why Fleur Cafe & Eatery is a Must-Visit

I’ve been to some incredible garden cafes in my time, but Fleur Cafe & Eatery in Mae Rim truly takes the cake. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a feast for the eyes. Picture this: multiple buildings tucked away amidst serene ponds, trickling streams, and cascading waterfalls. Stone pathways guide you through vibrant roses, azaleas, and even a two-story birdcage! It’s like stepping into a fairy tale, and I’m not even exaggerating.

Everywhere you turn, there’s something new to discover. The landscaping is second to none, with thoughtfully designed seating areas that allow you to soak in the freshness of nature while enjoying the great vibe of Mae Rim. Whether you’re here for a quick stopover on a long ride or making a day trip from the city, Fleur Cafe is a destination you won’t want to miss.

The Food: Delicious and Instagram-Worthy

Now, let’s talk about the food—because what’s a garden cafe near Chiang Mai without some mouthwatering dishes? Fleur Cafe & Eatery delivers on both taste and presentation. We started with a prawn bisque that was creamy and rich, followed by a salmon avocado bagel topped with delicate edible flowers. The salmon spinach spring rolls were fresh and crisp, just the right amount of indulgence. But the real showstopper was the chocolate mochi filled with fresh cream coconut and topped with edible gold. It’s almost too pretty to eat—but you’ll definitely want to!

And the best part? All of this culinary brilliance came to less than $30 USD. Yes, you read that right. For just 1,000 baht, you get an incredible dining experience in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable.

Service with a Smile and a Story

Our main server, Yaya, was an absolute gem. Not only was he attentive and warm, but he also shared stories about his previous life as a monk. This added a whole new level of zen to our experience, making Fleur Cafe & Eatery feel even more like a tranquil escape. The service was top-notch, and the staff were lovely and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was perfect.
