Morning Exploration Egg Drop & Daegu Art Museum I suggest starting with a delicious breakfast at one of the egg sandwich shops in downtown Daegu. Egg Drop is a great option that open at 9 most mornings. After breakfast, head to the Daegu Art Museum to explore modern and contemporary art from Korean and international artists. The museum has several indoor galleries, therefore making it the perfect activity for a rainy day in Daegu. I enjoyed wandering through the exhibits and learning about the different artists and their works. However, his popular bakery is well-known for its freshly-baked bread, pastries, and cakes, and is located in a beautiful park-like garden with fruit trees, water features, and outdoor art. But for me, the highlight of the bakery is its delicious soft-serve vanilla ice cream. It’s creamy, rich, even on a rainy day. Take the Yellow Line to Seomun Market You could head to one of the malls, Donga, Hyundai or Shinsegae Department Stores (malls). Or you could tackle the maze of stalls at Seomun Market for a taste of traditional Korean street food and to shop for local goods. Take the Yellow Line on the Daegu Metro and exit at Seomun Market Station. There are hundreds of vendors selling everything from Korean snacks to clothing and souvenirs. Afternoon of Traditional Pampering Rainy Day at a Jjimjilbang in Daegu Consequently, the afternoon is all about relaxing and enjoying the indoor activities that Daegu has to offer. You can choose from a variety of options. After lunch, the afternoon itinerary is all about relaxation and traditional healing. There are a variety of options to choose from, such as browsing the selection of books and magazines at Kyobo Bookstore or unwinding at a jjimjilbang like Seok Refresh Spa or Home Spa World. These popular spas offer saunas, hot tubs, and other amenities, as well as massage and beauty treatments. Gangyoungwoo Oriental Medical Clinic Acupuncture However, if you’re looking for a unique way to pamper yourself in Daegu, consider visiting Gangyoungwoo Oriental Medical Clinic, a renowned acupuncture clinic located near the Oriental Medicine Museum. Consequently, living in Korea next to a world famous center for Oriental Medicine gives us unabridged access to traditional medicines, treatments and procedures. One of which, acupuncture, has been tested to produce all kinds of health benefits, pain relief, and even diet & weight-loss assistance. I recently visited the Gangyoungwoo Oriental Medical Clinic, a famous, well-known acupuncture clinic in downtown Daegu to see if acupuncture would help relieve the residual numbness I have under the ball of my foot that resulted after back surgery. After describing the issue to the doctor, I laid on a comfy Korean bed– that’s a joke, no such thing exists– he cupped my lower back and stuck pins into areas I felt some discomfort & would give me relief in my foot. I laid there for 10 minutes with electricy running through the pins under red light. Afterwards, I was led upstairs for a massage that turned out to be much more– including a 15-minute relaxing sleeve massage and a spin cycle in the aerobic thermotherapy chamber. So far, I am hopeful. Last night was the first time I did not have noticeable discomfort while I tried to sleep. I’m anxious to see if this is a new normal. And all this for 30,000 KRW– I may just add this as a monthly spa visit. Although communication was difficult, I might bring a local national. 📍 Gangyoungwoo Oriental Medical Clinic38, Yangnyeong-gil, Jung-gu, Daeguhttps://www.instagram.com/p/ChGqRrpgFDW/?igshid=NjZiM2M3MzIxNA== Why Acupuncture? Romantic Evening Waglass Wine Bar The 27th Wedding Anniversary dinner will be at the cozy Waglas Rooftop Wine Bar in Suseong. The wine menu is huge, but the tasty but small food menu includes a lot of pork dishes. We enjoyed the fried chicken wings with basil, shrimp salad, and chopped steak with vegetables. Our wine choice was very good too– Mcguigan, a delicious shiraz from South Eastern Australia. We loved that they paced the food, not bringing it out at once but as we finished each course. You can just call ahead to reserve a window seat with a beautiful view of the lake and dark and good music, perfect for a casual/ romantic night out. 와글라스 22, Suseongmot-gil, Suseong-gu, Daegu #datenight #daegu #suseonglake #rooftopbar #winebar #cocktails #lakeview Stroll Around Suseong Lake However, the evening is all about romance. Incidentally, Suseong Lake offers a variety of restaurants, many of which have a beautiful view of the lake. For a romantic dinner experience, Waglass is a wine bar that offers fusion cuisine.
