The Beji Ubud Resort
Our Bali Jungle Experience
The room at the Beji Ubud was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. There’s also a small elevated seating area in each room for yoga or curling up with a book. Complimentary bottled water is set out daily. I woke early every morning with a cup of tea and sunrise yoga on the huge balcony of our room. It was incredibly serene to watch the mist clear from the trees as the sun rose. The rooms are massive with high-pitched Balinese roofs, which add to the feeling of being somewhere exotic.
The gardens and pools are a real treat too. And the attention to detail and warm, helpful staff made us feel special and right at home.
Remember Bali is Mostly Jungle
My husband loved the proximity to nature but wasn’t a fan of the open-concept design. He appreciated the view and the sounds of the jungle, but he hated that the doors didn’t reach all the way to the floor. The rooms are rustic and open to the elements, which meant lizards darted along the walls and monkeys played on the balcony like it was theirs.
One night, something got into the room. It moved just enough to make noise but stopped whenever he sat up to check. He couldn’t relax after that. I suggested they add bed netting, but he wasn’t confident it would protect us from the mosquitos and other creepy crawlers.
Amenities at the Beji Ubud
The resort has five pools, including a stunning infinity pool that overlooks the jungle canopy. Take a yoga class, enjoy a relaxing massage at one of the famous spas nearby, or schedule an instructor to meet you right on the resort grounds. A free shuttle runs to Central Ubud three times a day. Or do what we did—hire a private car and explore the sights at your own pace.
End the day with a tropical drink by the pool or at the resort bar before retreating to your cozy bed and the night sounds that lull you to sleep. Because you’re in the jungle—and the jungle doesn’t rest.
Breakfast at Beji Ubud
Breakfast was served open-air with the sounds of the jungle and a waterfall in the distance. We sat facing the valley, wrapped in the morning mist, as birds called out from the treetops. The buffet included fresh dragon fruit, mango, papaya, and pineapple. There were warm croissants, crusty rolls, and banana bread still soft from the oven. We poured glasses of guava, watermelon, and orange juice—each one freshly squeezed and full of flavor.
Breakfast is included in the stay and served with care and attention to detail. The #bejiubudresort also offers free Wi-Fi in the common areas and five outdoor pools overlooking the valley and a distant waterfall.
The City of Ubud
No trip to Bali is complete without a day or two in Ubud. The city is just a quick stroll from the Beji Ubud. Or take a quick taxi or complimentary shuttle ride for some of the fresh local, traditional food the city is known for. Ubud has a lot of culture. Its popularity continues to grow, boosted by the bestselling book and movie Eat, Pray, Love. It’s home to great restaurants, cafés, and shops. You’ll find artisans, museums, local performances, and plenty of attractions to round out your stay.
The US dollar doesn’t go as far as it used to in Bali. But for $40–50 per night, the Beji Ubud Resort offers incredible value. You’re within walking distance of the Neka Art Museum (7 minutes), a short drive to the Campuhan Ridge Walk (3 minutes) and Ubud Monkey Forest (7 minutes), and about 41 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

Your review of the Beji Ubud Resort in Bali makes it sound like a great spot to visit, with so much to do.
Great pictures, very envious. Have to look into a trip there now.
Cheers Sharon…
I hope you do. I can’t believe I actually went there either. If you had said I was going to Bali 5 years ago I would have thought you were crazy. It is so freaking beautiful, I do hope you get there too.
