Don Muang Airport (DMK) to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)
Now that Bangkok has two airports, you may have to transfer from one airport to another. This was the case recently when we traveled from Thailand to Luang Prabang, Laos. Initially, we landed at Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport (DMK). However, our departure was scheduled from the newer Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) the following day. Various transfer options are available, such as a private car or taxi. Still, the most economical and convenient choice is undoubtedly utilizing the airport’s complimentary shuttle service. This is a cost-effective solution between the two airports with just a little bit of effort.

At Don Muang Airport (DMK)
The shuttle bus service from Don Muang Airport (DMK) to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is complimentary, and no advance booking is necessary. It operates on a first-come, first-served basis for your convenience. The Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi shuttle service starts at 5:00, with the final bus departing at midnight. Departure frequency varies, typically every 30 minutes throughout the day. While the typical 24-mile journey takes 50-60 minutes, heavy traffic may extend to 2 hours. That may seem crazy, but traffic in Bangkok can be crazy. I highly recommend the shuttle because the bus can also use commuter lanes which offer non-stop service. Note the drivers will not make stops between airports.
Don Muang Airport is definitely not a silent airport… but these are.
The Shuttle Desk Locations
Don Muang Airport
The complimentary shuttle departs from Don Muang Airport Terminal 1. Find the buses on the 1st floor, outside the airport building. Bring your boarding pass to the desk outside Gate 6. At Suvarnabhumi Airport, passengers are conveniently dropped off at the departures area on the 4th floor.

Conclusion
Since the bus schedule can change, primarily due to traffic, checking the digital board at the bus stop is a good idea. This way, you’ll know when the next bus is coming and can plan accordingly. It helps you stay on top of things and adjust your plans if needed.
