What to Do in Chiang Mai Thailand
I enjoy visiting cafes near waterfalls, but it’s different this time. In Chiang Mai, there are several beautiful waterfalls created by Mother Nature. However, the city also boasts some that have nothing to do with nature. Many of these artificial waterfalls are at Danteqada Land of Angels Water Park. To switch things up, we decided to check out a Dantewada Land of Angels Waterfall Park with a cafe (yes, you read that right!) because it’s conveniently located on our route to Mon Jam, our destination for the day.

The Entrance Fee at Danteqada Land of Angels Water Park
Entering the water park costs 80 Baht per person. This is a fantastic deal for Thai citizens because they can get in for free. I think it’s a smart move. Wages in Thailand are relatively low, so the government covers the entire entrance fee for its citizens. As tourists, we foot the bill to make these attractions accessible. Some people complain about the higher prices for tourists, but honestly, if you can’t spare 80 Baht (just $2.25) for a fun vacation day, you should probably consider a staycation instead.
A Unique Jungle-themed Cafe
Unlike many popular cafes such as Ristr8to, which charges an entrance fee you can redeem for a drink, the entrance fee at Dantewada Land of Angels Waterfall Park doesn’t go toward a drink purchase at the park’s cafe.
This man-made attraction is a local favorite, featuring two massive waterfalls, caves, beautifully tended flower gardens, a coffee shop, and a cafe serving delicious food. We were the only foreigners in the park, so I’m introducing you to a hidden gem off the beaten path.
The Cafe at Dantewada Land of Angels Waterfall Park
The cafe is located near the entrance to the water park. We didn’t go there right away because it seemed like rain was on the way, and I wanted to explore the park first. When we eventually returned, we took a seat and enjoyed some drinks. The cafe’s interior is playful and colorful, adorned with paintings of angels and mystical creatures, in line with its name. Although we didn’t eat in the cafe, you can find coffee, desserts, and food on the menu.
The Waterfalls are Amazing
Must See Thailand
To the left of the cafe, you’ll notice the first cascading waters in the form of a babbling creek, with water tumbling down a series of small waterfalls. The sound is quite captivating. You can follow the stream over the paved pathway to reach the first significant waterfall, beautifully framed by a stone and boulder picture frame.
Keep walking past the waterfall to the clearing behind it. Climb the platform to get a great aerial view of the colorful flowers and the rest of the park. There is a small pen with rabbits. My friend Suwat bought me carrots to feed them. And, although they were so cute, they completely ruined my white canvas sneakers.
