I love living in Suseong due to the immense diversity offered by its numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants. Pizza School is the only pizza spot in the guide to Suseong. We ordered two delightful pizzas at Pizza School in Suseong: the beef bulgogi and the spicy chicken. However, you can rest assured that there are at least 15 other exciting combinations. The tomato sauce was flavorful, leaning towards the savory side rather than overly sweet. The crust was rich and buttery, adding a perfect touch to the overall experience.

Raga Indian Restaurant
Raga, located near Shinmae Market in Suseong, is a must-visit for Indian cuisine lovers. It’s our favorite spot for Indian food in Daegu. Raga stands out with generous portions of meat in their curries. The menu offers a delightful array, including biryani, curries, tandoori dishes, Indian nachos, and wraps.
Raga offers a variety of traditional Indian beverages to complement your meal. Must-tries include Lassi, a homemade yogurt drink, and Golden Milk, a soothing blend of turmeric, honey, ginger, and cinnamon. For herbal tea lovers, the Ayurveda Herb Tea made with tulsi rose and ginger is a refreshing detox option. Thandai, a chilled drink with cardamom, fennel seeds, almonds, saffron, and rose leaves, offers flavors. For a non-alcoholic option, try the sweet and refreshing Lemon Soda Ade. Waglas Rooftop Wine Bar
For our 27th anniversary, we celebrated at Waglas Rooftop Wine Bar in Suseong, a top spot in the food guide to Suseong Lake in Daegu. The ambiance was perfect, with an extensive wine menu and delicious pork dishes. We enjoyed fried chicken wings with basil, shrimp salad, and chopped steak with vegetables. The McGuigan Shiraz complemented our meal perfectly. We appreciated the thoughtful pacing, allowing us to savor each dish without feeling rushed.
Reserving a window seat gave us a beautiful lake view, with dim lighting and pleasing music enhancing the ambiance. For a cozy, intimate spot with great wine and delectable food, Waglas Rooftop Wine Bar is perfect. Casa Bianca’s
Steven and I enjoy Bianca’s warm hospitality. Her restaurant, Casa Bianca’s, is a nice Mexican restaurant that relocated from the Camp Walker area to the Suseong Circle in my neighborhood. It is our go-to takeout restaurant when we crave a chicken chimichanga.

Today’s Wine Bar
Today’s Wine Bar keeps drawing me back. It’s perfect for any mood—whether enjoying a fine wine and aglio olio pasta alone, having an intimate evening with my husband, or a fun night with friends. The counter-style seating by the windows adds a charming touch, perfect for people-watching and soaking in the urban ambiance. It’s my go-to spot for relaxation and great food.

What I love about Today’s Wine Bar is its well-rounded menu with delectable dishes that pair perfectly with its extensive, budget-friendly wine selection. From savory pasta to flavorful salads and tempting appetizers, there’s something for everyone. The curated wine list offers a variety of choices, each with a helpful description. Mies Container
Yes, I’ve enjoyed dining at Mies Container in Suseong Lake. At first glance, the building’s appearance might be misleading, as the restaurant is on the 2nd floor of an old building, nestled above a space undergoing renovations during my visit. The attention to detail in the presentation and the well-balanced combination of flavors showcased the chef’s expertise in creating a memorable dining experience.

La Salud
Don’t sleep on La Salud. It’s a little pricy, but their burgers are as close to authentic as you’ll get here in Daegu. Foreigners and locals love it, and they cut the burgers with a knife and fork.

Daecheon Oriental Chicken
Allow me to introduce you to the newest chicken restaurant in Suseong, Daecheon Oriental Chicken (대천한방통닭). This rotisserie chicken joint, located near the lake, offers a unique and delightful experience, setting it apart from the typical BBQ, fried, or Korean-style chicken restaurants.
Daecheon Oriental Chicken boasts a menu filled with a variety of whole chicken flavors, each with its own distinctive taste:

There are numerous Korean BBQ places in Suseong, but we’ve discovered a few gems that have become our go-to spots. These establishments offer meat options, including Beef, Duck, Lamb, and Chicken.
Mijin Livestock
We used to drive to Busan for Mijin Livestock’s marinated beef and chicken. They recently opened a branch here in Suseong for two months. We’ve been there three times, and Steven has taken his colleagues there twice. It’s that good and reasonable for beef, which is far more expensive than pork.

Nakdongsaeng Duck BBQ
I go to two delicious duck restaurants, but my favorite is Nakdongsaeng Duck Suseongmot Branch. It is yummy and offers limited parking.

Doosan 1st
Doosan 1st is our Cheers for skewered lamb. They know what we want as soon we step into the restaurant. That’s a nice feeling when you are so far from home. And the lamb is delicious and priced well.

Charcoal Grilled Chicken Leg Meat Daebong
If you are looking for more BBQ chicken options, I highly suggest Charcoal-grilled chicken leg meat Daebong. Although it’s not physically located in Suseong. It’s a short drive away in the Daebong area. They offer several marinades, spicy soy sauce, and garlic.

Sixty Chicken
Although I love being your guide to Suseong, I love the neighboring areas too. And if you’re looking for some of the best-fried chicken drumettes, check out 60 Chicken down the street. It is delicious. They do not use their cooking oil more than 60 times. And because we don’t eat pork, they change the oil every time we show up, so they aren’t frying our chicken in pork fat. I gotta show them some ❤️ for that.

Slow Cali
Slow Cali has delicious California bowls. The Hawaiian Shrimp/ avocado & spicy 🌶 chicken is yummy. You can add salad or rice or both.
