We walked into V. Sattui expecting to pay $15 each for a wine tasting. Surprise, surprise… V. Sattui comps the $15 tasting fee for active duty military personnel (and me too). Turns out the weekend was full of comps because V. Sattui isn’t the only one in Napa Valley that appreciates servicemembers with free or discounted pours.

Tomatillo Tex-Mex Grill: A Taste of Texas in the Heart of South Korea
Mexican food is a hit or miss proposition. It’s not like there is no market or appreciation for Mexican food, it’s that very few restaurants execute the fresh tomato, onion, cilantro, sour cream and the perfect balance of peppers in a way that it doesn’t become a ‘Korean imitation’ of what Mexican food should be.
Mansion 5: Why This Is One of the Most Popular Cafes in Daegu
Mansion 5 is a beautiful Hanok Cafe in the heart of downtown Daegu. Like other hanok cafes in the area, it serves desserts. But unlike the other hanok cafes I’ve visited, Mansion 5 also serves American-style brunch, beer, wine, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. All the above makes Mansion 5 Hanok…
Asian Foods Adventure: Unveiling My Most Loved Dishes

Brunch is served from 11-1 pm daily and cost 11,500 Won per person. Brunch includes eggs (cooked your way or scrambled with/ without bacon), hash browns, sausage and bacon, tossed salad, toast or bagel, fresh fruit and your choice of coffee or juice. Today we had sliced bananas and oranges. Merline enjoyed an Americano and I had a caramel macchiato under a blue sky and a comfy blanket.

My Favorite Places to Eat and Drink in Daegu We aren’t limited to BBQ and traditional fare (with amusing names) in Daegu. You can get a really good bowl of pho and a great hamburger in the same neighborhood. Many restaurants have pictures you can point to, but a few have…
Best in Asia: Experience the Gaggan Tasting Menu Bangkok, Thailand
I’m no foodie but I know when its good and trust me Gaggan Anand is a really good cook. He’s also really nice, funny, creative, he’s the owner and creator of the TOP RATED restaurant in Asia for the last two years. He’s trained with the world’s best, highly awarded and praised and through it all has remained pretty humble. I don’t know if I was in his shoes, whether I could make the same claim.
