We stayed at the Green World Songshan in Taiwan, a cozy chain hotel conveniently positioned just a few doors down from the Houshanpi MRT station. Located on the street brimming with local eateries, it offers a leisurely 15-minute walk to the lively Raohe Street Night Market and is a mere 3 km away from the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper.
The Raohe Night Market is just one of the night markets in the city. Raohe Night Market, situated in Taipei’s Songshan District near Ciyou Temple, is easily recognizable by the distinctive Ciyou Temple arch marking its main entrance. The market boasts a straightforward layout, extending for several blocks with stalls lining both sides.
Explore Taipei’s dynamic cafe culture nestled within the chic Da’an district, where you’ll encounter stunning decor, aromatic brews, and inviting atmospheres scattered throughout the city. Taipei’s vastness became apparent as I scouted numerous cafes before my arrival, realizing the significant investment of both time and money required. Thus, I opted to focus my cafe-hopping adventure solely within the vibrant Da’an district.
I really dislike group tours, whether it’s in Taipei or anywhere else. The idea of being part of a group, traveling with strangers, makes me feel uneasy. However, private tours are often expensive, which adds to my frustration. So, when I found a tour on Klook that covered all the places I wanted to visit in Taipei, and it was affordable at 41,000 KRW or $31 USD per person, I had to make a compromise. Despite my dislike for group tours, I decided to book it because I didn’t want to spend more money that could be used for another trip. It wasn’t ideal, but I had to go with it. So I booked the tour to Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen, Shifen, and the Golden Waterfalls for the day after tomorrow.
