Downtown Daegu’s Live Music Underground

Located in the basement of the Eldis Regent Hotel in downtown Daegu, Blue Chicago Jazz Club is a captivating live jazz club. Reservations are suggested but not required, and an admission fee of 15,000 ₩ per person is credited back to you upon arrival. The show commences promptly at 8:30 p.m. and consists of two sets with a brief intermission in between.

A New Jazz Chapter

In the past, we used to frequent Old Blue before its closure. Initially, we believed the Blue Chicago Jazz Club in Daegu had the same owner, but it turns out it’s under new management, and the improvements are notable. The venue boasts a delightful decor with captivating photos and posters featuring black jazz musicians.

Exceptional Musical Talent at the Blue Chicago Jazz Club in Daegu

The talent displayed by the musicians at Blue Chicago is exceptional. Accordingly, the performers were very talented. And the familiar tunes made the experience more fun for us. Tonight’s lineup features the group Cotton. It is a trio comprised of a pianist, a bassist, and a multi-talented trumpeter/drummer.

Delightful Dining Experience

Before attending the show, I recommend enjoying a meal elsewhere and then treating yourself to a light snack accompanied by a delightful bottle of wine at the club. The menu at the Blue Chicago Jazz Club in Daegu perfectly complements the experience, offering an excellent selection of enticing options such as olio aglio shrimp pasta, delectable cheese plates, and mouthwatering bruschetta. Tonight, we shared a bottle of wine instead of beer.

An Enchanting Atmosphere

Upon our arrival at 8 pm, the club was only half full, but within half an hour, it reached maximum capacity. So, I cannot recommend Blue Chicago highly enough; it also provides an enchanting atmosphere and makes for a perfect date night idea.

Operating hours are from Tuesday to Saturday, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and live performances from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Blue Chicago is located at the Eldis Regent Hotel in downtown Daegu, specifically at 2033 Dalguhwalro, Jung-gu.
