You might even hear people dubbing it the “Santorini of Korea,” and honestly, they’re not off the mark. The bright houses, many painted in Greek blue and white, set against the backdrop of the sea, do conjure images of Greece’s famed island.

From Rags to Riches

The village hasn’t always been the way it is today. In the past, Huinyeoul Cultural Village had a tough reputation, serving as a refuge for those displaced by the Korean War. Thanks to urban regeneration efforts, this once-struggling neighborhood has undergone a metamorphosis into a vibrant cultural hub.
