About Us Does This Sound Like You? About Duffelbagspouse Travels Duffelbagspouse Travels is all about travel, wellness, and maintaining a healthy home while serving the country. I do this by reminding spouses of their value and how integral we are to our military members’ success—without forgetting our independence. I highlight weekend and day trips from military installations around the world, personalized itineraries, and building community in a transient environment every 2-3 years. Every week, you’ll find posts on how I survive and thrive in a constantly changing environment. This is despite the fact that military life is not always conducive to a happy and cohesive family life. Hi, I’m Stacey Peters Born on an Army base in Maryland, I married a career soldier in 1995, and together, we’ve raised two children. I pursued international business, electrical engineering, and computer science degrees and ultimately earned a degree in political science with minors in economics and history. I studied architecture on scholarship at Oxford University before working in public service and the Department of Defense. Along the way, I’ve traveled to more than 80 countries, lived in three, and created 9, no 10 different homes, moving every 2–3 years. I am a storyteller, photographer, and global citizen. This is my journey—turning every challenge into an opportunity to grow, connect, and inspire others to do the same. The seven topics I’ve decided to concentrate on are: LIFESTYLE → CULINARY TRAVEL → MILITARY RELATED & MILITARY SPOUSE BLOG → TRAVEL EXPERIENCES → PLACES → SLOW TRAVEL TIPS → How Can I Help You? I am a former editor and a freelance writer, and I’ve contributed to 70+ written and online publications. I am an Army Brat and military (Army) spouse for more than 25 years. I’ve been blessed to raise two kids—one Navy and one former Air Force. Together, we’ve created nine homes and outlasted seven deployments. We’ve traveled to 80+ countries on three continents, and I’ve written about most of it right here. These posts reflect my experiences traveling with the military. You’ll find everything from dressing for a military ball to job hunting and handling the stress of deployments. I currently live in Rock Island, Illinois.
