Loveblanc Cafe Let me take you on a virtual tour of Loveblanc, one of the prettiest cafes in Pohang, located by the Mediterranean-like shores of Pohang. This place not only left me mesmerized but also sparked my love for taking selfies—sorry, I couldn’t resist having some fun! As soon as you step inside Loveblanc, you’ll be greeted by an abundance of natural light pouring in through its huge windows. The cafe boasts a bright and airy atmosphere, with a stunning view of a gazebo and waves crashing against the rocky cliffs. Loveblanc offers various seating options to suit your preferences. You can choose to relax indoors, enjoy the rooftop area, or take a seat on the charming patio with its white and blue painted faux stone design. Although the café itself is not directly accessible to the beach, don’t worry, it’s just a short distance away. Now, let’s talk about the desserts—oh boy, you won’t believe the mouthwatering selection Loveblanc has to offer! I was truly amazed by the wide variety available. And the best part? The rhythmic sound of the ocean waves crashing in the background creates an exceptional ambiance that enhances your overall experience. The Dragon Temple: A Colorful Journey Through History It’s important to note that Loveblanc is a popular café, so expect a bustling and lively atmosphere. Many people are drawn to its undeniable charm, just like you and me. However, I should mention a couple of minor inconveniences I encountered during my visit. First, parking can be a bit challenging as the café’s own parking area is limited. You might have to look for additional parking spaces along the roadside. Keep an eye out for parking signs a little further down the road to guide you. Massive Instagrammable Cafe in Pohang Secondly, considering the café’s size and popularity, there seemed to be a shortage of restroom facilities. It’s something to keep in mind, especially during peak hours when the café gets busy. The Hand of Harmony Festival in Pohang Despite these minor hiccups, my time spent at Loveblanc was truly enjoyable. One of the highlights for me was relaxing on the rooftop, soaking in the beautiful surroundings. I can’t wait to visit again and explore the neighboring cafés that are currently under construction. Its picturesque setting, delectable desserts, and vibrant atmosphere make it a must-visit destination. As you go up, you’ll feel like you’re stepping into different settings. There’s a charming wedding chapel, a lively jazz performance area, a cozy Italian patio, and even a Greek bedroom. But the real treat is when you reach the rooftop, where you can imagine yourself in Rome with the Coliseum’s walls or transport yourself to Santorini with its white cliffs and bells. It’s really fun, and on top of that, you get a lovely view of the ocean for just the price of a couple of coffees. If you head to the second floor, you’ll find an impressive display of antique cameras and portraits. It’s like a trip back in time, exploring the history of photography. And there’s more! Address: Cafe Fotopia1744, Haean-ro, Heunghae-eup, Buk-gu Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Odin Bakery & Cafe If you thought Loveblanc was a stunning cafe, wait until you hear about its neighbor, Odin Bakery & Cafe, one of the prettiest cafes in Pohang. Remember when I mentioned the construction happening next to the oceanside cafe in Pohang? Well, Odin Bakery & Cafe had its grand opening a few months ago, around April or May. Let me paint a picture for you. This Instagrammable cafe is massive, it even houses its own bakery. It spans two floors, with stadium-style seating in the middle and cozy table seating on both sides. The enormous picture windows face the sea, flooding the space with natural light and offering breathtaking views of the landscaped grounds, wooden bridge, lighthouse, dock, and fishing boats. You can follow a path that leads to a pebbled beach, which conveniently connects to Loveblanc Café next door. Both places share a Mediterranean theme, and you’ll find a wide array of unique desserts, drinks, and plenty of opportunities for memorable photos. They also have outdoor seating available, so you can enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze. The crashing waves against the shore are truly mesmerizing. With every surge, the powerful waves make the pebbles rattle underneath. Even Steven, who is not easily impressed, admitted to being amazed—quite a rare occurrence, to be honest. Despite its size, Odin Bakery & Cafe maintains a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. The parking lot is larger compared to Loveblanc, but it still may not be sufficient during peak times. Two Instagrammable Cafes in One Location There were countless reasons why Odin is one of the prettiest cafes in Pohang. It opens early at 9:30 a.m., offering stunning views and a delightful selection of unique desserts. The spaciousness and beautifully landscaped grounds create a serene atmosphere, while the diverse mix of age groups adds vibrancy. Bright and airy decor, an elevator, and friendly staff enhance the experience. However, the prices took me by surprise. Two desserts, an iced Americano, and a hot café latte came to 30,000 ₩on. But sometimes, you pay a bit more for an unforgettable experience, right? Here’s a crucial tip: Odin doesn’t accept American credit or debit cards. We tried six different ones, all declined. If you visit and have a different experience, please let me know—I made sure to inform the staff. Fortunately, our Korean card from Shinhan Bank worked. So, if you don’t have a Korean bank card, bring cash. Always Bring Cash when You Cafe Hop We’re not entirely sure why this discrepancy exists, but we suspect a few possibilities. It could be that their system does not accept foreign cards, and the management is unaware of the issue. Alternatively, they might be aware but choose not to address it. Another potential reason could be complications with the exchange rate between USD and ₩on, which the café management may prefer to avoid. Interestingly, we didn’t encounter this problem at Loveblanc. While kids are allowed inside Odin Bakery & Cafe, they need to be supervised, but unfortunately, furry friends are not permitted indoors—dogs are only allowed in the outdoor seating area. Overall, Odin Bakery & Cafe offers a grand experience with its impressive architecture, delicious treats, and captivating views. So, if you’re in the area, be sure to check it out and enjoy the unique ambiance it has to offer. Address: Odin Bakery & Cafe 오딘 베이커리카페3320, Donghae-daero, Songna-myeon, Buk-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do The Cape Lounge Let me tell you about The Cape Lounge, an instagrammable cafe in the heart of a pool villa in Pohang, near Homigot Sunrise Plaza. It’s an absolute must-visit if you’re in the area. This café used to be exclusive to villa guests, but now it’s open to the public every day from 9 am to 10 pm. It’s a great opportunity for anyone to experience its charm and beauty. What caught my attention the most was the pool—it’s absolutely incredible. The deep shade of cobalt blue contrasts beautifully with the whitewashed buildings of the resort, reminding me of the picturesque scenes I witnessed during my trip to Santorini. Mediterranean-Inspired Cafe in Pohang Named after its location by the East Sea, The Cape Lounge draws inspiration from Greece and the Mediterranean. The award-winning design of this two-story café above the pool offers partial views of the sea, creating a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. It’s truly a sight to behold. I’ve heard great things about their signature creamy latte. It’s said to be absolutely delicious. So, if you’re a coffee lover, don’t miss the chance to try it out. The Cape Lounge is a place that exudes elegance and beauty. Its location within the pool villa resort adds an extra touch of luxury. Whether you’re a guest at the resort or simply visiting, be sure to stop by and soak in the enchanting ambiance of this remarkable café. Address: Cape Lounge 케이프라운지224, Guman-gil, Homigot-myeon, Nam-gu Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-dohttp://kko.to/nBnAVV8Cy Arrangement Cafe Alright, if you’re getting tired of me showing you the most instagrammable ocean-side cafes, just let me know, and I’ll switch things up. But for now, here’s another one for you, as DJ Khaled would say. Let’s talk about The Arrangement, a massive café with three floors and a multi-level rooftop. Unfortunately, when I visited, the rooftop was scorching hot and not suitable for hanging out. I should also mention that the café is not wheelchair accessible, which is a bit disappointing. Unlike Oden and Loveblanc Cafes, Arrangement Cafe is located a bit further away from the beach, so there’s no direct access to the sandy shores. I noticed three exterior terraces, but only one of them had seating available. Instagrammable Staircase Focal Point Once you step inside, you’ll notice that they’ve made the staircase the focal point of the café. Personally, I didn’t find it particularly remarkable or eye-catching—it’s just a basic staircase. Don’t worry though, they have an elevator, so you can skip the stairs if you prefer. Let’s talk about the food. I noticed that there were quite a few dishes featuring pork (aka hotdogs). However, I have to be honest—the hotdog with shrimp bechamel didn’t impress me much, so I’d recommend skipping that one. On a brighter note, we did enjoy the red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing, although I found it a tad dry. Overall, considering my experiences in Pohang, I would rate Arrangement Cafe a solid 5 out of 10. However, it’s worth mentioning that it’s located down the road from Chilpo Beach and practically next door to Fotopia Cafe, so if you’re on a Pohang Cafe Tour, it’s worth stopping by for a visit. So there you have it, another café to add to the list. Let me know if you want me to keep exploring cafes by the ocean or if you’d like me to move on to something different. Address: Arrangement1804, Haean-ro, Heunghae-eup, Buk-gu Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-dohttp://kko.to/KXHrXS2Im Hello Winter Cafe Hello Winter Yeongildae Branch, a charming salad and sandwich cafe on Yeongildae Beach in Pohang, just across from Youngilgyo Pavilion. Trust me, this place is adorable! During our visit, she decided to order the roasted duck sandwich, while I went for the shrimp and avocado option. To complement our sandwiches, we both enjoyed refreshing cherry ades. Now, let me tell you, these sandwiches were jam-packed with fresh veggies and came with a delightful scoop of sweet potato salad on the side. It was a real treat for our taste buds and a satisfying, healthy choice. Beautiful Brunch Cafe on the Beach Hello Winter Yeongildae Branch has a fantastic location. It’s an excellent lunch option after exploring the Space Walk down the street. You can also swing by before or after taking a leisurely stroll along the popular strip or spending time on the beach. If you enjoy people-watching, grab a seat by the large picture windows and soak in the lively atmosphere. Here’s a handy hint for you—around 2:30 PM, the place tends to get quite busy, so be prepared for a crowd if you’re planning to visit at that time. Nevertheless, Hello Winter Yeongildae Branch is definitely worth checking out for a delicious and enjoyable lunch experience in Pohang.
