What You Need to Know Before Visiting E-World Amusement Park in Daegu

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the lights and decorations at E-World in Daegu? The park was once called Woobang Tower Land. Today, it’s known as E-World, although the name change remains a bit of a mystery. Join me as I explore one of Daegu’s most popular attractions. Set on a hillside with a European-inspired design, the park offers themed areas, exciting rides, and plenty of colorful spots for photos. It’s a fun place to spend the day and a great addition to any Daegu itinerary.

E-World puts the Color in Colorful Daegu.

This vibrant park in Daegu mixes European-style buildings, light displays, and floral gardens. E-World opened in March 1995 around the Daegu Tower. The park features a waterfall, artistic fountains, themed halls, and live shows. Many restaurants serve visitors throughout the park.

Each plaza has a theme. Entry Plaza greets visitors. Central Plaza invites people to gather. Children’s Plaza entertains kids with a playground. Young Town Plaza thrills all ages with exciting rides. E-World has 31 rides, including the Skyway. The Skyway gives a full view of the park.

The Daegu Tower rises over 200 meters. Visitors can see it from almost anywhere in Daegu. It sits on Duryu Mountain in Duryu-Dong, Dalseo-Gu. The tower includes restaurants, a museum, and an indoor ice rink.

Made for Selfie Sticks

One of the first things you’ll notice is that many people carry camera stands and selfie sticks. The park is set up to facilitate a lot of little vignettes, and the kids love them. I watched them flit from one to the next in rank and file. It wouldn’t have mattered except that they kept photobombing my selfies.

The Ranger has two boats that swing back and forth, then flip upside down. I walked up the hill to the Tower without realizing it.

I only wanted to ride the Skyway, so I took it back down the hill. It gave me a fantastic view of the park and the surrounding city and ended the night perfectly.

The Skyway offers a great aerial view of the entire park. You can see the Americana, a roller coaster with a loop-de-loop, several 360s, and sharp, fast corners.

That’s when I discovered we hadn’t even started the trail yet and I knew we were in for a climb to Gatbawi. Then we saw the them… the infamous rock stairs. There are literally thousands of them carved into the 3 hr hike up an 80 degree mountain face of Palgonsan Mountain. You can take the stairs or you can take a much longer, much less strenuous winding trail up to the top.

Midwest Travel: Old Oaks Winery in the Quad Cities

Old Oak Winery is a beautiful spot on 400 acres of rolling hills. We just moved here, so we don’t know much about the wine region, Self-described as the Napa Valley winery of the Midwest, the winery prides itself on an array of wines blended with grapes from their own vineyard as well as from Napa Valley. Actually, I had no idea they even had a vibrant wine region here in Illinois. With that said, it turned out to be a great place to learn about Midwest wine and grab something good to eat as well.
