Scenic Drive from Daegu
An absolute gem called the Aurora Hills Brunch Cafe between Daegu and Busan is hidden in the hills. It has a solid 5-star rating for its excellent food and service, and the reviews are pretty accurate. We took a tremendous one-hour drive from Daegu through the peaceful Miryang countryside, passing by a fantastic lake community with many houses and cafés.

The Warm Hello
When we showed up, the café crew welcomed us like old friends. They were super friendly, which kicked off our visit on the right foot.

The Mouth-Watering Eats
We felt adventurous and decided to order a mix of stuff. First, my all-time favorite Korean-Italian mashup, Aglio e Olio pasta, and then a big, juicy hamburger platter. This monster came with two patties slathered in rich brown gravy, crunchy cabbage, green salad, a hefty helping of bean sprouts (Steven’s favorite), and fresh apple slices. We got a refreshing lemon peach tea and a robust and tasty americano for drinks.
The Cool Place
The Aurora Hills Brunch Cafe is up in the hills and has a big rooftop that’s not open for business yet. But the whole place is surrounded by many beautiful blooming flowers and plants in pots. Plus, all the doors and windows can open like an accordion so that you can chill inside or out.
The Yummy Verdict
The food came out fast. And we shared both dishes, eating off the cutest French china. The pasta had a spicy kick to it that we enjoyed. The hamburger platter was tender and filling. While the food wasn’t outstanding, it was zesty and served in generous portions. Plus, the pricing was reasonable, making it a good value overall. There’s no way you’ll leave Aurora Hills Brunch Cafe hungry, that’s for sure.

The Extra Mile
Something happened when we were there. I saw the café staff buying crafts and walked over to check it out. The cafe owner engraved a pretty purple paper flower in my car. Every time I see it, I remember the fabulous time Miryang had at the Aurora Hills Brunch Cafe.
So, that’s another cafe checked off our list as we eat through South Korea. I can’t wait to see where our stomachs will lead us next!
