I’m happy to know that there’s still a place where farmers are revered and animals are loved as they are raised for food. At Ballymaloe Culinary School, food is for so much more than nourishment, it is for the soul and is a representation of love. It’s slow food– love for the land, the producers, and for the people who will be lucky to relish in its flavor.

The administration introduces legislation via twitter. Lies and innuendo have replaced truth and facts. We actually have something akin to a state news channel. Politicians have become hyper-partisan. Money rules and patriotism is a cliche used to stoke division. Honestly, I prefer living in South Korea. Or anywhere else– during election season. Here are just 13 of the reasons I hate American politics.
Seventy-two hours in Portland, Maine, and I’m in excruciating pain. I don’t know why my back has decided to act up a few weeks before my long weekend trip to Portland. But I’ve already paid for the conference, hotel, and airfare. So I’m loading up on nerve blockers and pain meds, and I’m going to Maine. I’m going to a blogging conference in Portland, Maine.
The Hermann Wine Trail is one of the largest and oldest German-settled communities in the United States. It’s roughly a 6-hour drive from Manhattan to Hermann, Mo. Stop by the visitors center to get a map and learn about the trolley/ public transportation and special events. And thank goodness, they brought their wine over, too.
