Unfortunately, the man was not there today. And while I may not have all the answers about the man behind the name. I can confidently confirm that the coffee was delicious. The skilled baristas were able to guide me through a menu. It was filled with a diverse selection of coffee choices- including velvety lattes, bold espressos, or refreshing iced brews. In the end I went with their specialty coffee. A lemon cream spooned over a dark espresso and an apple streusel.

Since its construction in November 2022, Goodtaste Coffee’s spacious two-building structure has welcomed visitors with its grandeur and expansive atmosphere. The high cathedral ceilings create a sense of openness, while the immense windows flood the interior with abundant natural light, bathing the space in a warm and inviting glow.
Interior Design
Stepping inside, guests are treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding landscape that becomes increasingly apparent. The large windows not only usher in ample sunlight but also offer captivating vistas of the countryside, charming farms, and the secluded wooded area that envelops the café. Designed with the intention of focusing on the outdoor beauty, Goodtaste Coffee’s interior design embraces minimalism, allowing the view to take center stage.

The first floor of one building features the counter and a display of freshly baked goods, enticing visitors with their tempting aromas and mouthwatering treats. As guests venture further into the café, they are met with the awe-inspiring sight of the picturesque scenery framed by the expansive windows. Hard Seats
The chairs and benches, with their straight lines and hard surfaces, lack the softness and cushioning that one might hope for when settling in for a leisurely coffee break. It is worth noting that while the seating may not be the epitome of comfort, the café’s focus remains on the quality of the coffee and the overall experience it provides. However, amidst this disappointment, the café did make an effort to alleviate the hardness of the seating by incorporating large potted plants throughout the space. So those who prioritize the taste and aroma of their coffee, the seating may be a secondary consideration.
I love combining a visit to a cafe with a temple visit, scenic walk, or a hike. Today I managed to squeeze in all three with a visit to Baengnimsa Temple.

Baengnimsa Temple
You might enjoy the landscaped grounds to the right and the paved hiking trail to the left. The trail meanders upwards to a few shrines, tombs and a small Temple called Baengnimsa. The temple is very small, with one monk in attendance. He greeted me with curiosity and a carton of water. His English was very good. As a result, I was able to ask him a few questions. We talked about the temple and Buddhism in general. Afterwards he invited me to retun on the first of the month for the monthly ritual. Or for Buddhas birthday which is June 8th.
