During a 13-hour layover in Kuala Lumpur, we visited the stunning Batu Caves. Instead of opting for an expensive taxi, we took public transportation with ease. The caves, just outside the city, are home to breathtaking temples and a towering statue of Lord Murugan. With 272 steps to the cathedral caves and mischievous monkeys along the way, the adventure was a perfect break from the airport.

The seats are tight for a two-hour flight let alone a 6 and half hour one. I am trying to type sideways because my husband’s broad chest will not allow me to sit and type facing the cockpit.
